Congratulations on your starting on your path to recovery. You’ve decided to better yourself by fighting your addiction through alternative methods that will not only improve your physical and mental wellbeing but also make you a better person. However, with the vast number of addiction treatments available, it can be a daunting task choosing which regimen is right for you. Here are a few treatment options available on your path to recovery.

Detox

Detox is a medical process that involves the physical removal of toxic substances from your body. This process usually lasts a couple of days and will help you to regain your physical strength and mental clarity. However, detoxing will not necessarily remove your psychological dependence on whatever substance you’re abusing. Detox should be a treatment used in conjunction with other long-term treatment options.

Inpatient/Residential Treatment

Inpatient treatment involves you being transplanted into a completely safe environment where you’re surrounded by programs such as addiction education, 12 Steps principles, clinical therapy, and more. You’ll be able to form countless positive relationships with no risk of temptation from outside influences. Combining this option with detox is highly recommended.

Outpatient Therapy

Outpatient treatment allows you to continue your regular life while using the positive tools you’ve learned in residential treatment. This is only recommended if you’re capable of living in a drug and alcohol-free environment. You’ll still have group therapy and other programs available but with less supervision. If you’re truly confident in your progress towards recovery, outpatient treatment will allow you to strengthen your relationships while resuming your career.

Sober Living Facilities

If you’re transitioning from inpatient treatment but are not quite ready for outpatient treatment, sober living might be perfect for you. Sober living allows you to live inside of a halfway house with other recovering patients. You’ll experience more treatment programs while under the supervision of a treatment professional. This option is a great training exercise if you’re ready to put your newfound lessons into use in the real world.

Find The Treatment That Works

All of the options above are valid methods on your path to recovery. Knowing yourself, however, is the most important part when discovering which treatment option you should choose. Some options work better for others but the important thing is that you’re seeking the help that you deserve. Do not be afraid to implement multiple recovery programs on your path to recovery. With the love and support of your family along with the guidance of trained recovery professionals, you’ll be able to conquer your addiction in no time.

Testimonials

  • Discovery Place was the answer for my son. He did the 90 day and then the step down program and sober living. We give this organization 10 stars. They met my son where he was …emotionally, mentally, physically. They helped him put his life back on track. Discovery Place employees care about their guests. If your son, brother, nephew, grandson or husband needs excellent supportive care THIS is indeed the facility.

  • I have remained sober and it is because of DP. DP is the best place there is, hands down. I keep everyone there in my prayers, and I encourage everyone there to take what they are practicing and do it in their lives, after.

  • Discovery Place means the world to me. They showed me the tools that I’ve tried to use everyday in my life to think less often of myself, and more frequently of others. I am learning to lend a hand when I am able and to have a honest and humble relationship with God and the people around me. Not only am I clean and sober, but also I am happy and fulfilled.

  • When I got to Discovery Place my whole life was in shambles, but I didn’t know it. I spent 6 months in their programs, participating in all three phases, and was met with kindness and love all along the way. It is unbelievable to me, where I am now relative to where I was when I arrived at DP.

  • I can never say enough good things about Discovery Place and the people who work there. Before checking in to DP, I was out of options and out of answers. Fortunately, Discovery Place has a solution. Taking suggestions from the staff at DP saved my life, and as a result, I’m now more content and hopeful about life. I’m grateful for Discovery Place showing me how to live a healthy life so that I can become a better man and help the next guy.”
